Fixing a squeaky hinge sounds practical and helpful!

Silence the Squeak: How to Fix a Squeaky Door Hinge

Squeaky door hinges can be a nuisance, but the good news is that you can fix them quickly and easily! Here’s how to get rid of that annoying creak in just a few steps.

Step 1: Identify the Squeaky Hinge
First, open and close the door a few times to pinpoint which hinge is causing the noise. Sometimes, it might be more than one!

Step 2: Gather Your Supplies
You’ll need some lubricant, like WD-40, or even household items like olive oil or petroleum jelly.

Step 3: Apply the Lubricant
With the door open, spray or dab a small amount of lubricant directly onto the hinge pin. Wipe away any excess to prevent drips.

Step 4: Work the Lubricant In
Open and close the door several times to help the lubricant penetrate the hinge. This should reduce or eliminate the squeak.

Step 5: Check and Repeat
If the noise persists, you might need to add a bit more lubricant or try a different type.

Prevention Tips
To avoid future squeaks, lubricate your door hinges every few months. Regular maintenance can keep your doors opening smoothly and quietly.
